I wound up buying this on a whim while it was on sale. Im so so so glad that I did! Because of it, Ive bought a couple other Trese Brothers games (Heroes of Steel & Star Traders 4X), and am thoroughly enjoying the bejesus out of all 3 of them. As for Templar Battleforce, its easily one of the best tactical/strategy RPGs Ive played on the iOS. The skill tree is... insane, the challenges are fantastic (7 difficulties!!! And every stage (almost every stage) has secondary objectives you can try and grab while also going for the move bonus (you get extra EX if you finish a stage under the par for moves), the UI/menu navigation is nice and clean (and was made even better in the recent update) - actually, speaking of updates... Trese Brothers are well known to have AMAZING post-release support for their games (go ahead, take a look at the update logs for their previous titles - Ill wait... ... ... ... crazy, yeah?). It seems like finding that kind of post-release support for iOS games is getting harder and harder these days.
Anyway... if youre looking for a nice, deep, tactical RPG with a pretty nice plot to go along with it and have been seriously let-down by the onslaught of free, IAP driven, social T/SRPGs, this should revitalize your hope for the future of mobile strategy gaming - and, like me, youll probably wind up with a new development team to put on your own favorite devs list... =oD
**update**
After the last update was an actual CONTENT update, this latest one is mainly tweaks and quality of life changes/additions, with the one that stuck out the most to me on first glance being the Re-balanced and improved Hydra weaponry. Im definitely psyched to dive into this one later tonight and check it all out. I just cant believe that while working on a new game, the Trese Brothers are still devoting this much effort and time to tweaking their older games. Theres seriously an update at least every month, if not more. And serious updates too... not just bug fixes. These are the types of developers that we should be supporting in todays AppStore.
