Templar Battleforce Elite App Reviews

Very, very good

I buy a lot of iPad games but dont write many reviews. This game deserves it though. The graphics and sound are a bit crude but the gameplay is outstanding. The freedom to try multiple strategies and customize your army is outstanding. I really enjoyed Xcom and Warhammer 40k Deathwatch, but this is much better on the iPad.

Worth it

Fun turn based strategy game. I find its worth the price. Some missions are a bit tedious and you will fail, but just take a break and come back to it when your patience returns. Theres a large number of missions. Dont burn yourself out. The graphics are good but not great. Few animations and the xeno designs could use more work. They arent as varied and animated as the Templars. The skill tree is too large if you can believe it. Its difficult to track which Templars need a skill unlocked to upgrade them. I think a per-Templar skill tree would work better. Could use a skirmish mode with optional fixed skill points cap. It would be fun to check out the other Templar types and skills in a full battle. No crashes or major bugs, EXCEPT that sometimes the zoom/pan will stop working. It happens a lot. Might have something to do with app focus as I have an Air2 and use the multitasking support a lot. The only way to get it back is to relaunch the app. Keep up the good work bros. ;)

Amazing

Where to start? A massive amount of excellent content. A rich, paced story that breaks just enough from 40k tropes to stay fresh while familiar. A retro low tech scifi aesthetic presented through tight, rich visuals. Engaging tactical gameplay with a myriad of difficulty options. A massive campaign of truly unique missions. Worth every penny, so glad to have made the purchase.

Top of the line Rpg

Ill be brief, because I want to go back playing: -extremely well made character customization and progression. Spend hours fine tuning your squad. The games mechanics are deep and rewarding to master. -high replay value due to ability to keep your squad and do multiple playthroughs once youre done (continue +) -fast paced turn based game. Always be on the move and see how quick youre able to clear the missions. Optimize, optimize! -excellent lore and art. Graphics do lovely to feel the battlefield. -active community and INCREDIBLY responsive devs. Buy their games and they bring out extra updates, free, simple as that. High quality Pc game in your hands, enough said.

Awesome!

One of the best turn based RPGs on the App Store!

Amazing

Plenty of strategy, quality gameplay, lots of meaty updates, its great! This game is a guide to how a game should be!

Awesome

Simply put, buy it. Easy to play, deep mechanics, nice backstory, perfect user interface, very clean 2D graphic. Also, very fast loading time that matched with the turn based game means you can play for five minutes in a row and still find it very enjoyable. Freakin awesome!

One of the top TBS games on iOS

If you like turn based strategy games, you need this. Its like Deathwatch, but actually fun to play. The devise are constantly updating and improving as well. Only regret I have us that I didnt download this sooner. Highly recommended!!!

Just when I thought there were no more good games ...

Actually, another reviewer- Loafy<something> - said it better already. Loved playing games on the iPad, fell in love with these tactical RPGs when i stumbled across the first XCOM. Thats a high bar - and while there have been a few decent games nothing has really blown me away. I dont remember why I picked this one. I think one in a batch to try without really thinking they would be very good. Needless to say, the others are long gone but this one is still here and I am still playing. Given the very clear attention to *gameplay* - which doesnt mean just graphics or just length or whatever; a great game is a great game because of how all the parts come together. With this game I realized I am not looking for good games or apps in the AppStore, but good people/companies. When I find an amazing game or app, I almost always find its the people behind it, the craftsmen that do this job. I guess its like most things in the world. You could reasonable not like a book for any number of reasons - but if its by a great writer, its probably still a really, really good book. Dane with software revs I think. My favorites always have a few games that arent my thing , but you know you will get your moneys worth and more.

Cant see the aliens!

So updated to the new version and now I cant see any of the xenos!

Great story, Squad-based RPG

Very in-depth tech tree and ability to create different types of characters. Great story writing and a LONG game, definitely getting your money’s worth. One of the unique features of the game is the ability to re-spec your team in between battles, allowing you to try vastly different strategies based on your upcoming challenges. Trese Brother games are frequently updated and improved, easy to communicate with on their forums. Active user group to learn/compare strategies for gameplay really make a difference. Wow, the recent performance improvements, UI improvements make this already great game one that you simply must buy. Smooth, fast. Once you get the hang of the team building concept and tech tree, you can attack the game over and over with new teams and experiences.

Templar Battleforce

**UPDATE** Another update... another review revision. =oP If youre a fan of SRPGs, get this. Dont think twice, just grab it. **Original Review** I wound up buying this on a whim while it was on sale. Im so so so glad that I did! Because of it, Ive bought a couple other Trese Brothers games (Heroes of Steel & Star Traders 4X), and am thoroughly enjoying the bejesus out of all 3 of them. As for Templar Battleforce, its easily one of the best tactical/strategy RPGs Ive played on the iOS. The skill tree is... insane, the challenges are fantastic (7 difficulties!!! And every stage (almost every stage) has secondary objectives you can try and grab while also going for the move bonus (you get extra EX if you finish a stage under the par for moves), the UI/menu navigation is nice and clean (and was made even better in the recent update) - actually, speaking of updates... Trese Brothers are well known to have AMAZING post-release support for their games (go ahead, take a look at the update logs for their previous titles - Ill wait... ... ... ... crazy, yeah?). It seems like finding that kind of post-release support for iOS games is getting harder and harder these days. Anyway... if youre looking for a nice, deep, tactical RPG with a pretty nice plot to go along with it and have been seriously let-down by the onslaught of free, IAP driven, social T/SRPGs, this should revitalize your hope for the future of mobile strategy gaming - and, like me, youll probably wind up with a new development team to put on your own favorite devs list... =oD

Great turn based game

The Trese Brothers have never put out a bad game. Best dev support in the business.

Great old school strategy rpg!

Ive been playing this game since it was released on steam and Im really excited to get it on my phone. Its great, challenging, deep, and above all else the developers are clearly committed to their fans and improving their products and listening to feedback. I cant say enough good things about this game!

Great strategy title

Best tbs since xcom. Deep strategy and squad customizing. Graphics are ok but it looks like snes and thats not a bad thing.

Great!

5 stars!!! My favorite Trese Brothers game thus far!

Better Than I Thought!

What gives this game more depth than I thought would be there, is that there are all of these "Talents" that can be upgraded. Certain characters have certain Talents. It is really quite fun.

FANTASTIC

Absolutely anyone who enjoys strategy and/or RPG titles should purchase this game. With multiple well-differentiated classes, an extensive tech tree, carefully designed missions with a great deal of variety, and an intriguing storyline to underpin it all, this game is a true gem. If you like FFT, buy it. If you like Banner Saga, buy it. Oh heck, just buy it. You wont regret it!!! Played on an iPad Air 2

Good turn based game, responsive devs and community.

Good turn based game, responsive devs and community.

Fun game

Looks can be deceiving. Templar Battleforce is an excellent turn based strategy game. Reminds me of XCom meets Warhammer. The customization options are staggering. Graphically and sound wise the game is serviceable but in turns of content and gameplay this game rivals current full prices alternatives. Purchased this for 6.99 on November 4th 2015. Fully worth the price.
